HOUSE OF LOOSE CONSCIOUSNESS, FAUP PORTO
The House of Loose Consciousness is the final output of the workshop with Fala at Porto Academy 2019, FAUP
Fala selects 7 architects, 4 tropes, 5 examples in 140 lessons.
The subject is seven architectural heroes, a very best of from the 1950s.
The survey is intended to be fragmentary - subjective its conclusions.
An eye opens on the evolution of architecture as a succession of lucky misinterpretations and optimistic mistranslations.
Märkli said: “in architecture first we learn the letters, than the words and only after we can compose sentences”.
The result is a Frankenstein house made of pieces.
The abstraction of the geometric elevation of Casa Massagno by Botta, the rigorous and unexpectedly playful plan of Haus Kuehnis by Märkli, the ephemeral, poetic character of the interior of Leek House by Fujimori, the brightness and spirituality of the circular skylight of Uncompleted House by Shinohara
This experiment bring together learning and creating, writing and drawing, crossing between arts and languages.
The text for the house of loose consciousness is inspired by 'Fantastic Architecture' , Wolf Vostell, Dick Higgins, 1971.
