ATTRAVERSO HONG KONG
APPLIED RESEARCH
2014
Through Hong Kong is an applied research on public space in contested urban contexts.
The aim of the research is to observe every-day interactions between people and space through the temporal dimension of action. Immersive and external positions and instruments allows us to compose an innovative picture of urban spaces, based on its transient elements which result from usage and life.
The experimental technique of juxtaposing several points of view and knowledge tools has been used in order to break preconceptions concerning the urban space and its usage.
In HK's case study, three tools compose the methodological hybrid - language, drawing, and video, used from both the immersive position of flaneuristic walking and the external one of rhythms’ observation. The research focuses on a collection of specific places, which have been selected as distinctive of the Hong Kong’s urban context.
